Commentary: Law school rankings a dangerous game - Wisconsin Law ...

Yet law schools are trying harder than ever to get high rankings in the annual surveys conducted by several national publications. Longtime readers of this column know that such [more...]

One such organization; a relative newcomer, that has risen to national prominence very quickly (it began in 2003) is the American Alliance of Paralegals Inc (AAPI). AAPI’s fast ascent to prominence may be traced to the fact that it was the first national organization that focused primarily on the establishment of minimum educational requirements. In addition, members that wish to have a say in policy (given a vote) must meet particular guidelines through both real world experience and on an educational basis. Crucial benchmarks to gauge when examining the standard of a paralegal program: 1. [more...]

What careers in finance would be benefitted by a legal education ...

Regarding being a Paralegal: Employers (usually law firms) in the field of Law today want employees with Bachelors degrees from traditional colleges/universities. Those “certificates” you see advertised aren’t worth the paper they are printed on – they are generally scams. (I found this out the hard way.) Cost of law school to be lawyer, approx $150,000+. Be prepared to take on a lot of debt. Even if you finish law school, you won’t be able to find a job when you are done. Since this vocational field is shrinking, many new attorneys/lawyers are, themselves, having to work [more...]

Online studying for a criminal justice degree

In the past I've often said that I would love to have earned a criminal justice degree to enforce law in the proper way. My contact with socalled careworkers hasn't been always positive, and I'm sure we would have been treated better when they would have known that the law is important to me. Yesterday I was again psychologically attacked by someone who thinks she knows it all, and she behaved in such a way that she crossed some borders the law has created to protect people.
