Today, the Florida Registered Paralegal Program has been launched. It is expected, that in addition to the approximately 300 people who have already requested the application, many more will be downloading it today from the Florida Bar’s website. An applicant will also have to pay an application charge of $150.00. In about two weeks, approved applicants will receive notifications with certificates and welcome packets via mail. Florida: Supreme Court adopts voluntary registration for paralegals Taking another step in a process that began in 2005, the state Supreme Court has amended the rules regulating the Florida Bar by adopting a voluntary Florida Registered Paralegal Program. I just found out that I am one of the first 300 people in Florida to be approved in the Registered Paralegal Program by the Florida Bar. This is a new program that is aimed at promoting more competencies in the legal profession. I am not a "paralegal" but a program manager that supports a major corporate litigation department, I am still proud to be in this program because I think it will give counsel confidence that I can assist with more legal-impacting processes.
