In 1975, Dr. Eastman returned to University of Tennessee to teach and serve as Executive Assistant to the Chancellor and Executive Director to University Communications. Dr. Eastman traveled abroad in 1989 to teach English Literature at Lanzhou University in Lanzhou, China. From 1990-2001 Dr. Eastman served as the Vice President for Development and University Relations and eventually served as Vice President for Strategic Planning and Public Affairs at the University of Georgia. I took a few months off so I could decompress (not too many jobs were available at that time, anyway, I reasoned.) Since that time, I found myself in many temp-to-perm executive assistant or administrative assistant jobs. Many of the positions fell through, either because employers wanted someone with more experience in their line of work, or budget shortfalls (at least that's what I was told).
