Paralegal certificate or AA degree in paralegal studies?
I received a Bachelors degree in Social Science in December 2003 but took some time off from school to be home with my kids. I’m interested in becoming a paralegal but was wondering which would better to have: a paralegal certificate which would take about 9 months or an Associates degree in paralegal studies which would take two years? The ten courses I would need for the certificate are 30 hours each while the ones for the degree would last a whole semester so I’m guessing I’d be receiving more education since I’d be in each class longer. I know there’s quite a bit of difference [more...]

I really want to do SOMETHING in aviation, it my career path, its been my choice since I was sophomore in HS. I'm in college now and pursing an AA degree. After I would like to take flying school or some degree in Avionics. So yea, That was my first taste of failing at getting a job into aviation. The only thing my resume could show is my retail and customer service experiences (work in a clothing store). So I'm pretty much in the pits in aviation, I have nothing to show. How would I go about introducing myself to get my foot in door of an aviation [more...]

One Response to “If you got your Associates in Paralegal Studies & the program was ABA approved does it matter?” Comment from Libraryanna Time May 4, 2010 at 4:57 pm I think attorneys mostly look at what you know. I suppose if you want to work at a high power big firm, it could matter. ABA lack of approval can be for reasons unrelated to quality. For example, my law school for years was not approved because they offered part time programs. Didn’t make sense, but that’s the way they are. See if they are accredited/certified by someone such as the state bar. I’m a paralegal, but [more...]

Bachelors vs. Associates in Graphic Design? : NJ Arts Council
So, my recommendation is, since you won’t be able to complete your four or five years, right now, Get the AA, move with your hubby and think about finishing off your degree online, or at a later time. The AS doesn’t hurt you, but just don’t expext a brilliant and successful career in those first few years. By the way, until you get yourself established in someone’s studio or agency, you shouldn’t expect the privilidge of “telecommuting” you job from home. The only way to do that is for you to do freelance work. And THAT means that your primary function will be SALES. You have to [more...]
